Thailand Emergency Numbers: Pattaya Response Checklist

An emergency number is useful only if the caller chooses the right service and can describe the location. Prepare the response before you need it: save the official numbers, make a bilingual address card and decide who can speak for you if you cannot.

This guide separates emergency dispatch from advice and municipal complaints. It does not promise response times or replace instructions from an emergency operator.

Save the numbers as separate contacts with plain names. Do not call an emergency number merely to test it. Confirm that your phone, SIM and calling plan work normally in Thailand, and keep another charged phone or trusted nearby contact as a fallback.

Choose the channel by the immediate problem

Call 1669 for a medical emergency, 191 for immediate police danger and 199 for fire or rescue. Use 1155 when Tourist Police assistance or language support is relevant. If more than one hazard exists—such as a road crash with fire and serious injuries—tell the first operator the complete scene and follow the instructions given.

The 1323 mental-health hotline offers consultation. If someone may act immediately to harm themselves or another person, is unconscious or has a medical crisis, use the emergency channel appropriate to the immediate danger instead of relying only on counselling.

For a suspected poisoning, 1367 can provide poison information. Preserve the container, label, active ingredient, amount and time if it is safe to do so. Do not induce vomiting or give food, drink or medicine unless the poison centre or emergency clinician instructs you. Call 1669 first when the person has severe symptoms or cannot be transported safely.

Prepare a Pattaya emergency address card

Create one card on paper and one on the phone lock screen. Include:

• full building, village or condominium name;
• unit, floor, house number, soi, road, subdistrict and district;
• a Thai-script address checked by the building office or landlord;
• a map pin and one nearby landmark responders can identify;
• gate, key-card, lift or reception instructions;
• your Thai mobile number and a second callback number; and
• the name of a person who can meet responders outside.

A map pin alone may be ambiguous inside a large condominium, gated village or road system. Walk the route from the nearest public road to the unit and identify what would block a stretcher, wheelchair or fire crew.

Use a short call script

Give information in this order:

1. Location: exact address, landmark and access instructions.
2. Callback: the number that will remain available.
3. Problem: the main symptom, injury, danger or fire.
4. People: number affected, approximate age and whether anyone is trapped or unconscious.
5. Hazards: traffic, smoke, electricity, gas, chemicals, weapons or unsafe animals.
6. Access: gate code, lift, stairs and who will meet the responder.

Answer the operator’s questions and do not hang up until told. Send one person to meet responders only when doing so is safe. Keep the entrance, lift and room path clear.

Build a medical handover packet

Keep a compact, current packet—not a folder no one can find—with:

• passport identification page and current contact details;
• insurer and assistance numbers plus policy identifier;
• diagnoses, allergies and current medicines with doses;
• treating doctor or usual clinic;
• emergency contact and preferred language;
• mobility, hearing, vision or communication needs; and
• advance-care or legal documents only where valid and relevant.

Keep 1337 in the correct lane

Pattaya City documents 1337 as its complaint and public-service channel. It can be useful for municipal problems, but it is not the number to substitute for a medical emergency, crime in progress or fire. Routing the call correctly is more important than trying to make one number handle every problem.

After the immediate danger

When safe, record the incident number, responding unit, hospital or station, time, names and documents supplied. Preserve photographs, receipts and medical or police records without obstructing responders. Notify the insurer through the policy’s required channel and deadline; do not assume the hospital or police will do it for you.

Replace used emergency medicines or supplies, correct any address or access failure and update the contact card. The first 30 days checklist places this setup early in a move rather than after the first crisis.
